Serving at the altar

Acolytes carry the cross and torches, light and tend the candles, and assist the clergy through the liturgy. It is one of the oldest ways young people take a visible part in worship at Holy Trinity, and adults serve too. No experience is needed; training is given, and new acolytes begin alongside someone experienced.
