Preparing the church for worship

The Altar Guild readies the church for every service: vessels polished, linens laundered and pressed, candles and wine and bread set, flowers arranged, and everything restored again afterward. Most of the work happens when no one is watching, which is rather the point. Members usually serve on a rotation, so the commitment is a few weeks a year.
