Carrying communion to those who cannot come

Lay Eucharistic Visitors take the Sacrament directly from Sunday's altar to parishioners who are homebound, in hospital, or in care, so that no one is cut off from the parish's communion by illness or distance. Visitors bring the parish with them, and often stay to talk. The ministry is licensed and begins with training.
